Made up of four young players and composers who met during their time studying at the Florida State University Jazz Studies Program and based in New Orleans, Saturn Quartet is one of today’s electrifying new entries on the international jazz scene. Since the release of their debut album “Synchronicities” on March 1st, 2022, they have been played weekly on syndicated radio across the United States and in the United Kingdom.
Saturn Quartet features:
Ricardo Pascal – saxophones
Brenden Polk – piano
Robin Sherman – bass
Gerald Watkins Jr – drums
The combo proudly wears its reverence for the traditions of this storied American genre, but its members pride themselves on their collective passion for pushing the envelope into uncharted terrains.
The fact that they have both the nerve to treat their chosen material with such an open-hearted approach and the finely honed chops required to pull off subtly adventurous stylistic detours is a testament not only to each player’s nascent mastery of their craft, but to the creative chemistry that exists between them all – a palpable relationship which is instantly obvious, even to casual listeners.
That chemistry and audacity is evident throughout all seven tracks on Saturn Quartet’s brand new debut album, “Synchronicities,” produced by Grammy-nominated artist Jamison Ross. Visit www.SaturnQuartet.com to sample their sound, and learn more.
