Fusing Jazz elements with the Gullah/Geechee influence of the Lowcountry, the Demetrius Doctor Trio featuring The Wives, look to create a musical experience unlike any other. Consisting of Demetrius Doctor (piano), Lavonta Green (bass), and Calvin Baxter II (drums), and vocalists Corinthian Doctor, Chelsea Green, and Shay Rollerson, the Charleston natives’ experiences as church musicians and singers in the Holy City can be heard in every pounding rhythm and heartfelt melody. With a wide-ranging skill set, members of the group have shared the stage with Gospel artists like Tye Tribbett, Chandler Moore, and Travis Greene, Hip Hop artists like A$AP Rocky, as well as jazz legends like Fred Wesley and Freddie Cole. The group is currently in the process of recording its first album and look to continue sharing the music of their home with the world
