The Jazz Band at Georgia State is a renowned ensemble delivering exceptional musical performances. Composed of talented and passionate musicians, the band showcases a diverse range of jazz styles, including swing, bebop and fusion. The group regularly performs at various events, both on and off campus and has garnered a reputation for its electrifying and soulful performances. This year they are joined by GRAMMY award-winner, David Sanchez, who is recognized as one of the finest saxophonists of his generation. His deep-seated knowledge of Jazz and Latin music has resulted in five GRAMMY nominations and a win for his Latin album, “Coral” in 2005. He has taught in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Manhattan School of Music, Stanford University, and many more schools. He completed a year-long residency at Georgia State University and joins their Quintet this year as a mentor.
